Welcome To

Keyham Kennels & Cattery

About Us

Kennels and Cattery is run by Sue and Kevin, and their experienced staff. We are set in 40 acres of beautiful Leicestershire countryside, with 3 ½ acres of natural woodland, a babbling stream and 27 acres of meadow.

Our philosophy is to offer a relaxed, animal-friendly and fun-loving environment for your pet, based on their individual needs.

We welcome and encourage owners to visit prior to their pet’s stay, so please feel free to get in touch. Remember no question is too daft to ask, especially when you’ve never boarded your pet before.

Our Kennels

Our funky kennel-blocks provide plenty of space for your dog to be comfortable during their stay. Each kennel has a raised bed area, with heating, and we provide plenty of bedding; however to help your dog settle in we recommend you provide something that smells of home…a slipper, old t-shirt or a favourite toy: in fact one of our regulars has his own suitcase! Of course we do provide plenty of toys to keep your dog entertained during their stay, along with treats (if they’re allowed).

Whilst we don’t provide on-site grooming, we are very happy to arrange for your dog to visit the lovely Fran and her team at LA Spa N Groom.

Secret Garden

Our Cattery

Our fully-heated Cattery provides for all your cat’s needs.  Each pen has a large secret bed-box, as some cats can be shy, with beds available out in the open for the more sociable cat visitor. Each bed has a heat-pad, to help keep your cat toasty-warm, and plenty of toys and scratch posts to keep them amused during their stay. To help your cat to settle in, please feel free to bring any bedding or toys that you think they may like.

Further Information

Opening Hours:

We are open for drop-off and collection as follows.

Monday – Friday: 9:00 – 11:00 am and 4:00 to 5:00 pm

Weekends and Bank/Public Holidays: 9:00 – 11:00 am only

As well as living on-site, we have 24-hour CCTV coverage.

All dogs must have current vaccinations against Canine Distemper, Infectious Canine Hepatitis (Canine adenovirus), Leptospirosis (L. canicola and L. icterohaemorrhagiae) and Canine Parvovirus and other relevant diseases.

All cats must have current vaccination against feline parvovirus (feline infectious enteritis) (FIE) and against feline respiratory viruses (feline herpesvirus and feline calicivirus).

Your pet’s normal annual booster should provide the protection required. If your pet is not vaccinated then unfortunately we will not be able to look after them, so please ensure your pet is up-to-date and their veterinary health record is brought with them on each visit.

The cost of your pet’s stay includes their bed and board. Whilst we stock a wide range of well-known brands of both wet and dry dog and cat food, you may be asked to provide your pet’s food in certain circumstances. We are, of course, happy to look after dogs on a raw-feed diet, providing you supply the food.

Please advise us if you dog is on a raw-feed diet as we’ll need to make room in the freezer!

We are annually inspected and fully-licenced by Harborough District Council (please note it is unlawful to provide any form of boarding for dogs and cats without a licence).
